Badrinath Dham Door Closed: This year, the pilgrimage to Badrinath started on 12th May and the doors were closed on 17th November. This year more than 14 lakh devotees came for darshan during the 190 day long yatra. The doors of Badrinath Temple were closed at 9.07 pm as per the auspicious time for winter season.

Mother Lakshmi sits in the sanctum sanctorum
Badrinath Temple remained open for devotees to visit throughout the day. The consecration puja of Badrinath started at 4.30 in the morning. Badrinath was decorated with Tulsi and Himalayan flowers.
At 7.45 pm, Rawal (Chief Priest) Amarnath Namboodiri, dressed as a woman, entered Lakshmi Mata into the Badrinath Temple. After worshiping and aarti of all the deities in Badrish Panchayat (Badrinath sanctum sanctorum), the idols of Uddhav ji and Kuber ji were brought out of the sanctum sanctorum.
Shayan Aarti took place at 8:10 pm. After that the Badrinath Dham door closing process was started. At 8:15 pm, the ghee blanket prepared by the girls of Mana village was covered over Lord Badrinath and after lighting the eternal flame, at exactly 9:07 pm, the doors of Lord Badrinath were closed for the winter.

On the occasion of closing of the doors of Badrinath Dham, the temple was decorated with 15 Qtl of marigold flowers on behalf of Shri Badrinath Pushp Seva Samiti, Rishikesh. While the puja was performed with the religious traditions of closing the doors in the temple since late evening, local folk artists and Mahila Mangal Dal Bamani, Pandukeshwar presented folk dance and jagar in the courtyard of the temple.
Now the Utsav Doli of Uddhav and Kuber and the throne of AdiGuru Shankaracharya along with Rawal, Dharmadhikari, Vedpathi and the rightful holders of Badrinath will leave for Yoga Badri temple of Pandukeshwar on Monday morning. After this, on 19th November, Jagadguru Adi Shankaracharya Ji’s Gaddi Rawal along with Dharmadhikari Vedpathi will leave for Shri Narasimha Temple Joshimath. After this, winter puja will also start at Yoga Badri Pandukeshwar and Shri Nrisingh Temple Joshimath.
10 Thousand Devotees Visited- Badrinath Dham Door Closed
The doors of the world famous Shri Badrinath Dham were ritually closed for the winter season at 9.07 pm on Sunday with the devotional tunes of the army band and the slogan of Jai Badrivishal.
With the closing of the doors of Badrinath Dham, the Chardham Yatra of the year 2024 of Uttarakhand has also been duly completed. On the auspicious occasion of closing of the doors of Badrinath temple, about 10 thousand devotees had darshan of Lord Badrivishal.
The process of closing the doors of Badrinath temple started with Shayan Aarti on Sunday evening. In the temple, Rawal Amarnath Namboodiri, Dharmadhikari Radhakrishna Thapliyal, Vedapathi Ravindra Bhatt, Amit Bandoliya completed the procedures of closing the doors as per traditions.
